Easter Kids Books
When I think about the magic of childhood holidays, and especially Easter with it coming up, I think about the special moments… decorating the house together, coloring eggs, cooking in the kitchen, and waking up each morning leading up to the holiday to a basket filled with books that only came out that time of year.
And now, I’ve found myself carrying those traditions into my own home, putting that same care and intention into creating those moments for my kids.
It’s the way my mom made our home feel warm and inviting… like those moments were created just for us. And they were.
There was a feeling in the air before the holiday even arrived. A quiet shift in the house that made everything feel a little more special, a little more intentional.
And for me, one of the things that defined that feeling was always books.
Every holiday, my mom would bring out a small collection that only existed for that time of year. Halloween books. Thanksgiving books. Christmas books. Valentine’s books. Easter books.
They didn’t live on our shelves year-round. That’s what made them feel special.
They felt like something we got to step into for a little while… and then tuck away again until the next year. It was always such a fun tradition for my sister and I, and I’ve started the same tradition with my kids.
A few weeks before Easter, I bring out our Easter decorations that includes a basket placed by the couch, and I fill it with books we’ve collected. Some are from my childhood. Some are newer finds I’ve picked up over the years. But together, they’ve become part of something bigger than just reading.
They’ve become part of the rhythm of our home.
My kids will grab them in the morning while we’re easing into the day. We’ll read them at night when everything finally slows down. Sometimes it’s one book, sometimes five, sometimes the same one over and over again.
And every year, it feels new again.
We don’t need more pressure to “make things magical.” We’re already carrying enough.
But traditions like this do something quietly powerful. They create connection without needing a big plan. They give your kids something to look forward to in the days leading up to the holiday. They make your home feel intentional without adding more to your plate.
They become traditions your kids will be excited about each year, and eventually memories to take with them for a lifetime.
It’s not about doing more. It’s about choosing a few things that matter, and letting them repeat.
That’s where the magic actually comes from.
Here are some of the books that are part of our own Easter collection 🤍

You don’t need a huge collection to start. Even two or three books is enough to create this feeling.
Over time, you’ll add to it… and before you know it, you’ll have your own little library of seasons.
Not the perfect holiday. Not whether everything was done “right.”
But the feeling of sitting next to you, turning pages, laughing at the same story for the tenth time, being close, being together.
That’s the magic.
And the beautiful part is… you’re already creating it.
